RAP 2.11 Interlock Test

The interlock switches used in the CMT-130TC
and accessories are comprised of switch bodies
that mount inside the trimmer or accessory, and
actuator keys that mount to each door. When a
door is closed, the actuator key engages fully
into the switch body. When a door is opened,
the actuator key pulls out of the switch body and
the interlock circuit becomes open and all mo-
tion stops. Use the following procedure to test
the operation of the interlock switches.
Procedure
1. Disconnect main power.
2. Open a door and locate the interlock switch
(Figure 2-11).
3. Use a screwdriver to pry the switch body
door open and expose the contacts.
4. Locate the normally open (N.O.) contacts
(Figure 2-12) and test continuity. There
should be no continuity at the normally open
contacts. Is this true?
Y
N

placed (PL 5.12 Main Assembly 59000

WARNING
Do not operate the machine until this
switch is replaced and functioning
properly. Failure to do so could allow the
machine to operate in an un-safe state.
Serious injury or death may result.
5. Insert the test key, part number 45180-4,
