ADJ 4.28 Elevator Shelf Synchroniza-
tion
Any time the Elevator's drive chain or drive mo-
tor is replaced, the Elevator lift plates will require
synchronization.
Initial Actions
WARNING
Disconnect and lockout power as described
in the Power Lockout Procedure on page ix.
Disconnect the Elevator from the trimmer. Re-
move the lower right-hand side cover from the
Elevator that covers the drive chain (Figure
4-46).
Procedure
1. Switch the main power OFF and lockout
power to the machine. Switch the main air
OFF.
2. Use a hex allen wrench to loosen the two
setscrews that mount the left-hand sprocket
to the shaft (Figure 4-47). Back the set-
screws out approximately 1/2" (12 mm).
3. Thread a 3/8-16 screw (from toolkit) into the
open hole in the sprocket hub.
4. Turn the screw until the insert disengages
from the sprocket hub.
5. Remove the insert removal screw from the
hub.
6. Raise the Elevator lift plates on the free side
until they are level with the plates on the op-
posite side (Figure 4-48).
7. With the plates level, rotate the adjustment
hub counterclockwise by hand to put tension
on the chain (Figure 4-49).

8. Using a hammer or mallet, gently tap the in-
sert into the sprocket hub while maintaining
tension in the chain.
9. Tighten the two setscrews in the adjustment
hub to lock it in place.
10. Repeat this procedure as necessary, until
the plates are level and the drive chain is
under tension. If the drive chain is not under
tension, the plates will lose synchronization
as soon as the motor is switched on.
11. Re-install all covers and attach the Elevator
to the trimmer.
