RAP 2.26 Registration Plate Extend

The registration plate extends during the jog,
and then retracts to provide clearance for the
book to move past the registration assembly.
The cylinder is located within the side registra-
tion assembly (Figure 2-36).
Possible Fault Indicators

Book not cutting square.

Book lost in machine.

Book height cut dimension off by as
much as 1/2" (13 mm).

Plate remains extended, never extends,
or extends erratically.
Initial Actions
Perform RAP 2.20 Pneumatic Pressure.
Perform GP 6.14 Speed-Control Air Valves.
Check for air leaks and disconnected or pinched
hoses.
Check for loose or damaged wire 101 at the
electrical panel.
Check that the cable connector on valve #7A is
connected properly.
Procedure
1. Switch the main air ON and main power ON.
2. Manually activate valve #7A by pressing the
actuator button on the valve (Figure 2-37).
Does the plate extend outward approxi-
mately 1/2"?
Y N
Disconnect power and replace valve #7 (PL
5.22 Pneu. Manifold Asm. 59012-1).
2. Status Indicator RAPs
3. Electrically activate valve #7A by shorting
wire 101 to wire 74. Does the plate extend?
Y N
Disconnect power and replace valve #7 (PL
5.22 Pneu. Manifold Asm. 59012-1).
4. Disconnect power and replace the main
PWB (REP 4.23 Main PWB Replacement).
