GP 6.2 Input/Output Diagnostics

Main Machine
Input devices such as sensors and switches pro-
vide on/off feedback to the main PWB. Output
devices such as motors and valves receive
on/off commands from the main PWB. The di-
agnostic screen (Figure 6-2) lists every input
and output, as well as their current states.
Any time an input device is activated while the
diagnostic screen is shown, the following indica-
tions will occur:
The input's checkbox changes from un-
checked to checked.
A short audible tone is transmitted from
the main PWB.
The corresponding LED on the main
PWB switches on (GP 6.3 Input/Output
LEDs).
The status light on top of the machine
toggles on or off.
The diagnostic screen can also be used to man-
ually turn outputs on or off. When activating an
output, the following indications will occur (in ad-
dition to the output device turning on):
The output's checkbox changes from
unchecked to checked.
The corresponding LED on the main
PWB switches on (GP 6.3 Input/Output
LEDs).
Procedure:
1. Switch the main power OFF and then ON.
Press the "Diagnostic" button to bring up the
diagnostic screen. Inputs are on the left
side of the screen, outputs are on the right.
The checkbox next to each input/output indi-
cates its current state: Checked = on, un-
checked = off.

2. To manually activate or deactivate an out-
put, first press the "Enable Outputs" button.
Then press the checkbox next to the desired
output to toggle it on or off.
Note: Some outputs require the IR relay to
be activated AND the green start button
pressed before they can be activated.
Accessories
There are four different infeed/outfeed accesso-
ries that each contain their own I/O PWB. They
are: The Elevator, Pile Feeder, Vertical Stacker,
and Exit Conveyor. The input and output de-
vices located within these accessories communi-
cate with the accessory I/O PWB, which in turn
communicates with the trimmer's main PWB.
Similar to the main PWB, the input and output
LEDs on the accessory's I/O PWB (GP 6.3 In-
put/Output LEDs) indicate whether the corre-
sponding input or output is on.
Procedure:
1. At the lower right corner of the diagnostic
screen (Figure 6-3), press the diagnostic
button corresponding to the diagnostic
screen you would like to view. For example,
to view the Elevator diagnostic screen, click
the "Elevator Diagnostics" button. This will
bring up the diagnostic screen that is spe-
cific to the Elevator (Figure 6-4).
2. A list of inputs and outputs will be shown on
the left side of the screen. The checkbox
next to each input/output indicates its cur-
rent state: Checked = on, unchecked = off.
3. To manually activate or deactivate an out-
put, first press the "Enable Outputs" button.
Then press the checkbox next to the desired
output to toggle it on or off.
Note: Some outputs require the IR relay to
be activated AND the green start button
pressed before they can be activated.
