RAP 2.39 Left Jogger Retract Sensor

The left jogger retract sensor detects that the left
jogger cylinder is retracted. The cylinder must
be retracted before a book can be moved into
the jogging station.
Possible Fault Indicators
"Left Jogger Failed to Ex-
tend/Retract" message is dis-
played.
Initial Actions
Perform RAP 2.21 Left Jogger Cylinder to vali-
date operation of pneumatics.
Check for loose or damaged wire 50 at the elec-
trical panel.
Procedure
1. Switch the main power OFF and make sure
that the jogger is fully retracted. Retract the
jogger cylinder by hand if necessary.
2. Switch the main power ON and go to the di-
agnostic screen (GP 6.2 Input/Output Diag-
nostics). Does the diagnostic screen show
input "Left \ In" on?

N
Short wire 50 to 74 at the main PWB. On
the diagnostic screen does input "Left In"
switch on?
Y
N
Disconnect power and replace the con-
sole PWB (REP 4.24 Console PWB Re-
placement).
Replace sensor (PL 5.17 Power Panel EE-
3503 (2/2)).

3. Disconnect wire 50 at the main PWB. On
the diagnostic screen does input "Left In"
switch off?
Y
N
Disconnect power and replace the console
PWB (REP 4.24 Console PWB Replace-
ment).
4. While still in the diagnostic screen, and with
the jogger cylinder fully retracted, adjust the
sensor. To do this, loosen the sensor set
screw and slide the sensor across its groove
until the sensor LED switches on. An audi-
ble beep should also be heard from the con-
sole as the sensor switches on and off.
5. Tighten the sensor set screw to lock the
sensor in place.
