RAP 2.59 Book on Tilt Sensors

Elevator I/O PWB Inputs 4 and 5
These sensors are located under the tilt table
surface as shown in Figure 2-89. The sensors
detect books as they fall onto the conveyor.
Possible Fault Indicators
"Elevator JAM From the
Binder" message is displayed errone-
ously.
"Elevator Book on Tilt Error"
message is displayed erroneously.
Initial Actions
Check that the sensors are set as far away from
the conveyor surface as possible.
Check that all cables between the trimmer, Ele-
vator, and Tilt Infeed Conveyor are securely fas-
tened and are not damaged.
Check that the reflectors are in place on the
book stop (Figure 2-89) and replace any if faulty
(PL 5.43 Tilt Conveyor 56600TCA (5/8)).
Check and repair loose or damaged wires 44,
45, 73, and 74 at the Elevator electrical panel
(Figure 2-90).
Procedure
1. Switch the main power ON and go to the El-
evator diagnostic screen (GP 6.2 Input/Out-
put Diagnostics). Make sure that both sen-
sors are not obstructed. Are inputs "Book
on Tilt 1" and "Book on Tilt 2" both off?

Disconnect wires 44 and 45. On the diag-
nostic screen do both "Book on Tilt" inputs
switch off?

Disconnect power and replace the Ele-
vator I/O PWB (REP 4.26 Accessory
PWB Replacement).
Adjust the sensor (GP 6.6 Retro-reflective
Sensors) and replace if faulty (PL 5.47 Tilt
Conv. Elec. Panel EE-3547).
2. Short wire 44 to 74 and wire 45 to 74. On
the diagnostic screen are both "Book on Tilt"
inputs now on?

Disconnect power and replace the Elevator
I/O PWB (REP 4.26 Accessory PWB Re-
placement).
3. Adjust the sensor (GP 6.6 Retro-reflective
Sensors) and replace if faulty (PL 5.47 Tilt
Conv. Elec. Panel EE-3547).
