RAP 2.9 Status Light

Outputs 1, 9, 20
The status light is located on the top of the trim-
mer (Figure 2-8). It indicates the current opera-
tional state of the trimmer. The possible status
light indications are as follows:
Solid Green (output 1) - The trimmer is running
and is ready to trim books or is trimming books.
Flashing Yellow (output 20) - The trimmer is
not running. Action must be taken to start the
trimmer, for example the outfeed device needs
to be emptied or the green start button needs to
be pressed.
Flashing Red (output 9) - There is an error in
the trimmer or accessories that needs to be re-
solved before the trimmer will be able to run.
The yellow status light is also used as an input
diagnostic indicator. While in the diagnostic
screen, the status light toggles on and off each
time an input changes states.
Possible Fault Indicators

Some or all of the colors of the status
light do not switch on at the right time or
at all.
Initial Actions
Check RAP 2.4 Input Power and RAP 2.5 DC
Power.
Check and repair loose or damaged wires 93,
97, 99 at the electrical panel.
Procedure
1. Switch the main power ON. Go to the diag-
nostic screen and enable outputs (GP 6.2
Input/Output Diagnostics). Activate the sta-
tus light red, status light yellow, and status
light red outputs. Are output LED's 1, 9, and

20 (GP 6.3 Input/Output LEDs) all switched
on?
Y N
Disconnect power and replace the main
PWB (REP 4.23 Main PWB Replacement).
2. Deactivate all three status light outputs and
exit the diagnostic screen.
3. Electrically activate the green status light by
shorting wire 93 to 74. Does the green sta-
tus light come on?
Y N
Disconnect power and replace the status
light (PL 5.13 Main Assembly 59000
(13/14)).
4. Electrically activate the yellow status light by
shorting wire 99 to 74. Does the yellow sta-
tus light come on?
Y N
Disconnect power and replace the status
light (PL 5.13 Main Assembly 59000
(13/14)).
5. Electrically activate the red status light by
shorting wire 97 to 74. Does the red status
light come on?
Y N
Disconnect power and replace the status
light (PL 5.13 Main Assembly 59000
(13/14)).
6. Disconnect power and replace the main
PWB (REP 4.23 Main PWB Replacement).
