This sensor is used to stop the top lift plates
consistently in the proper position. The sensor
is located on the right side of the Elevator, be-
tween the Elevator and the trimmer.
Possible Fault Indicators
"Elevator failed to lift" mes-
sage is displayed regularly.
Initial Actions
Check that all cables between the trimmer, Ele-
vator, and Tilt Infeed Conveyor are securely fas-
tened and are not damaged.
Check and repair loose or damaged wires 40,
73, 74 at the electrical panel.
Procedure
1. Are the top pair of lift plates level with the
trimmer's internal infeed conveyor (approxi-
mately 36" above the floor)?
Y
N
Switch the main power OFF and then back
ON. Press the green start button to initialize
the trimmer. Shut the main power OFF
when the top pair of lift plates become level
with the trimmer's internal infeed conveyor.
2. Switch the main power ON and go to the El-
evator diagnostic screen (GP 6.2 Input/Out-
put Diagnostics). Is input "Shelf Level De-
tect" off?

2-96). Check that there is at most 0.01" be-
tween the sensor and the plane in which the
lift plates move through. Is the sensor
properly adjusted?
Y
N
Go to GP 6.5 Proximity Sensors to review
the sensor adjustment procedure.
Disconnect the sensor, mounting bracket
and pull sensor/bracket out of machine to
adjust. It may be necessary to cut tie wraps
to provide enough slack.

proximately 0.01" or less clearance between
the plate and the retainer. Did this fix the
problem?
Y
N
Replace faulty sensor (PL 5.30 Elevator
