ADJ 4.9 Conveyor Belt Tracking Ad-
justment
A conveyor belt's tracking must be adjusted after
replacement or removal, or if a belt is not track-
ing properly. All CMT-130TC conveyor belts are
adjusted by the same method.
Initial Actions
All covers must be installed, and all doors must
be closed.
Procedure
1. Switch the main power ON.
2. Go to the diagnostic screen and enable out-
puts (GP 6.2 Input/Output Diagnostics).
Make sure all doors are closed, then acti-
vate the Interlock Relay output. Press the
green start button to energize the IR relay.
The "Interlock Relay IR" input should switch
on.
3. To start the trimmer's conveyor belts, switch
on the Conveyors output. To start an acces-
sory's conveyor, go to the accessory's diag-
nostic screen, enable outputs, and switch on
the desired conveyor
4. While the belt is running, turn the belt ten-
sioning screws until the conveyor belt is ten-
sioned to meet the following conditions:
Internal Infeed Conveyor: The belt can-
not be stopped by applying approxi-
mately 10 pounds of pressure to the top
surface of the belt.
Internal Outfeed Conveyor: Adjust this
belt so that the gap between the belt
and the belt guard or exit ramp is as
small as possible without the belt touch-
ing the guard or exit ramp (Figure 4-25).
Failure to do this could result in a pinch
hazard.
4. Repair/Adjustment Procedures
Tilt Infeed Conveyor: The belt cannot
be stopped by applying approximately
10 pounds of pressure to the top sur-
face of the belt.
Exit Conveyor: The belt cannot be
stopped by applying approximately 40
pounds of pressure to the top surface
of the belt.
Hand-Feed Conveyor: The belt cannot
be stopped by applying approximately
20 pounds of pressure to the top sur-
face of the belt.
5. To adjust tracking, turn one of the two ten-
sioning screws in or out to move the belt
sideways one way or another.
6. Observe the belt for several minutes to
make sure it is tracking properly. Re-adjust
as necessary.
7. Switch the main power OFF when finished.
