RAP 2.52 Elevator Door Interlocks

Elevator I/O PWB Inputs 3, 6, and 12
The Elevator and Tilt Conveyor have a total of
three access doors that have interlock switches.
Opening any one of these doors will stop all
movement in the trimmer and its accessories.
Possible Fault Indicators
"Elevator Tilt Door Open",
"Elevator Door Open", or "Eleva-
tor Top Door Open" message is
displayed while all doors are closed.
A door is open, but the Elevator and
trimmer continue to operate.
A door is open, but no message is dis-
played on the screen.
Initial Actions
Check that all cables between the trimmer, Ele-
vator, and Tilt Infeed Conveyor are securely fas-
tened and are not damaged.
Check that all three doors are securely closed.
Check and repair loose or damaged wires 43,
49, 57 at the Elevator's electrical panel. Check
and repair loose or damaged wires on all 3 door
interlock switches.
Procedure (does not operate with doors
closed)
1. Does the screen show an "Elevator door
open" message?

N
Cycle power OFF and then back ON. Then
go to the diagnostic screen (GP 6.2 In-
put/Output Diagnostics). Open each door. Is
a tone heard with each opening?
2. Status Indicator RAPs
Y
N
Disconnect power and replace the Ele-
vator I/O PWB (REP 4.26 Accessory
PWB Replacement).
Disconnect power and replace the defective
interlock switch (PL 5.33 Elevator
56421TCA (6/7), PL 5.34 Elevator
56421TCA (7/7), or PL 5.45 Tilt Conveyor
56600TCA (7/8)).
2. Check the operation of the indicated inter-
lock switch. For Elevator interlocks, make
sure that the actuator key engages fully into
the switch body when the door is closed,
and pulls out of the switch body when the
door is opened. For the Tilt Conveyor inter-
lock, make sure that both actuators are not
depressed when the door is closed, and are
depressed when the door is open. Adjust if
necessary (GP 6.11 Keyed Interlock
Switches or GP 6.10 Micro-Switches). Did
this fix the problem?

Perform RAP 2.11 Interlock Test and re-
place any defective switches.
Repair complete.
Procedure (operates with a door open)
WARNING
Do not operate the machine until this switch
is replaced and functioning properly. Failure
to do so could allow the machine to operate
in an un-safe state. Serious injury or death
may result.
1. Check the operation of the applicable inter-
lock switch. For Elevator interlocks, make
sure that the actuator key engages fully into
the switch body when the door is closed,
and pulls out of the switch body when the
