ADJ 4.17 Knife Gib Adjustment

The front side of the knife bar has two gibs that
may occasionally require adjustment. There is
one gib on each end of the knife bar. Perform
ADJ 4.5 Accuracy Adjustment after adjusting the
gibs.
Procedure
1. Switch the main power OFF.
2. Move the waste bin aside and open the rear
door.
3. Loosen all six jam nuts and gib screws.
4. Tighten the middle gib screw on each side of
the knife bar. Stop tightening the screws
when they begin to feel tight and the gib is
visibly against the knife bar.
5. Turn the screws counterclockwise enough to
release any force on the knife bar but not
enough to allow the gib to visibly move away
from the knife bar.
6. Repeat steps 4 through 5 for the top and
bottom gib screws on each end of the knife
bar.
7. Securely lock the gib screws in place with
their jam nuts. Use a hex allen wrench to
prevent the screws from turning as the jam
nuts are tightened.
8. Close the door and replace the waste bin.
9. After adjusting gibs, it may be necessary to
perform ADJ 4.5 Accuracy Adjustment.
