RAP 2.69 Stacker Tray Up/Down Cyl-

Stacker I/O PWB Output 6
The tray up/down cylinder is used to lift the roller
tray up and down. The Book In sensor detects
when a book is completely in the roller tray, trig-
gering the cylinder to lift the tray to the horizontal
position, ready for the tray to dump the book
onto the output table. The tray up/down cylinder
is located under the roller tray, as shown in Fig-
ure 2-107.
Possible Fault Indicators
The roller tray does not lift horizontally.
The tray up/down cylinder does not ac-
tuate when it should.
Initial Actions
Perform RAP 2.20 Pneumatic Pressure.
Check that all cables and air tubing between the
trimmer and Stacker are securely fastened and
are not damaged.
Perform GP 6.14 Speed-Control Air Valves.
Check that all air hoses in the Stacker are con-
nected properly, and are not damaged or
pinched.
Check for loose or damaged wire 72 at the
Stacker electrical panel.
Check that cable #1 is connected to the air valve
properly.
Procedure
1. Remove the rear panel on the Stacker and
locate the tray up/down cylinder. Fully open
the flow control valves located at the air fit-
tings on the cylinder.
2. Switch the main air ON and main power ON.

3. Manually activate the tray up/down air valve
by pressing the actuator button on the valve
(Figure 2-107). Does roller tray lift to the
horizontal position?

N
Disconnect main power and replace the
valve (PL 5.66 Stacker Air Manifold 58008).
4. Electrically activate the valve by shorting
wire 72 to wire 74. Does the valve actuate
and the roller tray lift to the horizontal posi-
tion?
Y
N
Disconnect main power and replace the
valve (PL 5.66 Stacker Air Manifold 58008).
5. Check for loose or damaged cables between
the trimmer and Stacker. Check for proper
hose and wire connections inside the
Stacker. Did this fix the problem?
Y
N
Disconnect power and replace the Stacker
I/O PWB (REP 4.26 Accessory PWB Re-
placement).
6. Readjust the flow control valves so that the
tray up/down cylinder moves at a moderate
speed (GP 6.14 Speed-Control Air Valves).
