RAP 2.53 Elevator Tilt Table Cylin-
ders
Elevator I/O PWB Output 5
The tilt table cylinders lift and hold the tilt table
up until a book enters into the Tilt Infeed Con-
veyor and drops onto the tilt table. Sensors de-
tect when a book is on the tilt table, triggering
the cylinders to drop the tilt table to a level posi-
tion. Once the book leaves the tilt table and en-
ters the Elevator, the tilt table raises back up to
the angled position. When the machine is
switched off, the tilt table drops to the level posi-
tion.
Possible Fault Indicators
The tilt table does not lift.
The tilt table does not drop when it
should.
Initial Actions
Perform RAP 2.20 Pneumatic Pressure.
Check that all cables and air tubing between the
trimmer, Elevator, and Tilt Infeed Conveyor are
securely fastened and are not damaged.
Perform GP 6.14 Speed-Control Air Valves.
Check that all air hoses inside the Tilt Infeed
Conveyor are connected properly and not dam-
aged or pinched.
Check for loose or damaged wire 56 at the Ele-
vator's electrical panel.
Check that the cable connector on the air valve
is connected properly.
Procedure
1. Switch the main air ON and main power ON.

2. Manually activate the air valve by pressing
the actuator button on the valve (Figure
2-80). Does tilt table lift?

N
Disconnect main power and replace the
valve (PL 5.39 Tilt Conveyor 56600TCA
(1/8)).
3. Electrically activate the valve by shorting
wire 56 to wire 74. Does the valve actuate
and the tilt table lift?
Y
N
Disconnect main power and replace the
valve (PL 5.39 Tilt Conveyor 56600TCA
(1/8)).
4. Check for loose or damaged cables between
the trimmer, Elevator, and Tilt Infeed Con-
veyor. Check for proper hose and wire con-
nection inside the conveyor case. Did this fix
the problem?

N
Disconnect power and replace the Elevator
I/O PWB (REP 4.26 Accessory PWB Re-
placement).
Repair Complete.
