RAP 2.58 Tilt Up Switch

Elevator I/O PWB Input 1
The tilt up switch detects when the tilt table is in
the raised position, ready to receive books from
the input conveyor. The switch is located under
the tilt table as shown in Figure 2-89.
Possible Fault Indicators

"Elevator Tilt Error" message is
displayed.
Initial Actions
Check that all cables between the trimmer, Ele-
vator, and Tilt Infeed Conveyor are securely fas-
tened and are not damaged.
Check and repair loose or damaged wires 41
and 74 at the Elevator electrical panel (Figure
2-90) and inside the Tilt Conveyor case.
Procedure
1. Switch the main power ON and go to the El-
evator diagnostic screen (GP 6.2 Input/Out-
put Diagnostics) and enable outputs. Switch
on output "Tilt Cylinder". Does the tilt table
raise all the way up properly?
Y N
Go to RAP 2.53 Elevator Tilt Table Cylin-
ders.
2. On the diagnostic screen, is input "Tilt Up"
on?
Y N
Short wire 41 to 74. On the diagnostic
screen does input "Tilt Up" switch on?
Y N
Disconnect power and replace the Ele-
vator I/O PWB (REP 4.26 Accessory
PWB Replacement).
2. Status Indicator RAPs
Adjust switch so that it the actuator is de-
pressed properly when the tilt table is up. If
input still does not come on, replace defec-
tive switch (PL 5.42 Tilt Conveyor
56600TCA (4/8)).
3. Disconnect wire 41. On the diagnostic
screen does input "Tilt Up" switch off?
Y N
Disconnect power and replace the Elevator
I/O PWB (REP 4.26 Accessory PWB Re-
placement).
4. Adjust switch so that it the actuator is de-
pressed properly when the tilt table is up,
and not depressed when the tilt table is
down. If this does not solve the problem, re-
place defective switch (PL 5.42 Tilt Con-
veyor 56600TCA (4/8)).
