RAP 2.40 Registration Preset Sensor

Input "Preset A"
The right side registration uses a preset sensor
at various times to calibrate or "preset" it's start-
ing position. The accuracy settings in the ma-
chine should be checked and/or adjusted when-
ever this sensor is moved or replaced (ADJ 4.5
Accuracy Adjustment).
Possible Fault Indicators

The registration side stop will not move.

After power is cycled, the knife assem-
bly and the registration do not move.

"Registration Position Error"
message is displayed.
Initial Actions
Check for loose or damaged wire 15 at the elec-
trical panel.
Perform RAP 2.34 Registration Assembly Motor.
Procedure
1. Switch the main power OFF.
2. Check fuses PCF1 and PCF2 on the main
PWB (Figure 2-64). Is the resistance of
fuses less than 2 Ohms?
Y N
Replace blown fuses.
3. Open the right door and rotate the registra-
tion drive pulley until the actuator tab is
away from the sensor.
4. Close the door and switch the main power
ON. Go to the diagnostic screen (GP 6.2 In-
put/Output Diagnostics). Does the diagnostic
screen show input "Registration Preset" on?

Y N
Short wire 15 to 74 at the main PWB. On
the diagnostic screen does input " Registra-
tion Preset " switch on?
Y N
Disconnect power and replace the main
PWB (REP 4.23 Main PWB Replace-
ment).
Adjust the sensor (GP 6.5 Proximity Sen-
sors) and replace if faulty (PL 5.15 Registra-
tion Asm. 56311-3).
5. Disconnect wire 15 at the main PWB. On
the diagnostic screen does input " Registra-
tion Preset " switch off?
Y N
Disconnect power and replace the main
PWB (REP 4.23 Main PWB Replacement).
6. Adjust the sensor (GP 6.5 Proximity Sen-
sors) and replace if faulty (PL 5.15 Registra-
tion Asm. 56311-3).
