RAP 2.73 Stacker Roller Start Sensor

Stacker I/O PWB Input 3
The roller start sensor is a retro-reflective sensor
that detects when books enter into the Stacker
as they exit the trimmer. This triggers the roller
motor to start driving the rollers until the book is
completely in the roller tray.
The sensor is mounted in the side frame of the
Stacker, below where the books enter into the
Stacker. The reflector is mounted directly above
the sensor, as shown in Figure 2-112.
Possible Fault Indicators

"Stacker Book Jam Start" mes-
sage is displayed when there is no jam.

A jam is not detected when there is a
jam between the trimmer and Stacker.
Initial Actions
Check that the sensor is aligned with the reflec-
tor mounted on the bracket above it.
Check that all cables between the trimmer and
Stacker are securely fastened and are not dam-
aged.
Check and repair loose or damaged wires 67,
73, and 74 at the Stacker electrical panel.
Procedure
1. Switch the main power ON and go to the
Stacker diagnostic screen (GP 6.2 In-
put/Output Diagnostics). Make sure that the
sensor is not obstructed. Is input "Roller
Start" off?
Y N
Disconnect wire 67. On the diagnostic
screen does input "Roller Start" switch off?

Y N
Disconnect power and replace the
Stacker I/O PWB (REP 4.26 Accessory
PWB Replacement).
Adjust the sensor (GP 6.6 Retro-reflective
Sensors) and replace if faulty (PL 5.55 Out-
feed Stacker 58000TCA (1/9) or PL 5.64
Stacker Elec. Panel EE-3518).
2. Short wire 67 to 74. On the diagnostic
screen does input "Roller Start" switch on?
Y N
Disconnect power and replace the Stacker
I/O PWB (REP 4.26 Accessory PWB Re-
placement).
3. Adjust the sensor (GP 6.6 Retro-reflective
Sensors) and replace if faulty (PL 5.55 Out-
feed Stacker 58000TCA (1/9) or PL 5.64
Stacker Elec. Panel EE-3518).
