STARTER
STARTING
Place these parts on the starter housing:
(c)
( 1 ) New 0--- r ing
(2) Starter clutch assembly
Idler gear
(3)
(4) Bearing
Install the starter housing to the magnetic switch with the

2 screws.
Torque: 9.3 N·m (95 kgf.cm, 82 in.·lbf)

INSTALL FIELD FRAME

Install a new 0-nng to the groove of the f1led frame.
(a)
Align the protrusion of the field frame with the groove of

the magnetic switch, and install the field frame.

INSTALL BRUSH HOLDER

5.
Place the brush holder on the field frame.

Using a screwdriver, hold the brush spring back, and con­
(b)
nect the brush into the brush holder. Connect the 4
brushes.
NOTICE:
Check that the positive (+) lead wires are not grounded.

INSTALL END COVER

6.
Install a new G-ring to the groove of the field frame.
(a)
Install the end cover to the field frame with the 2 screws.
(b)
Torque: 3.8 N·m (39 kgf.cm, 34 in..lbf)
Install the field frame and armature assembly with the 2
(c)
through bolts.
Torque: 9.3 N·m (95 kgf.cm, 82 in.·lbf)
(d) Connect the lead wire to terminal C with the nut
Torque: 5.9 N·m (60 kgf . cm, 52 in.·lbf)

INSTALL NEW DUST PROTECTOR
