Parameters
pon-ignore: Disables the EPON ONU from dropping unknown multicast packets.
The S3100-EI series Ethernet switches support the pon-ignore keyword.
An S3100-C-EPON-EI series Ethernet switch with an ONU sub-card can operate as an EPON
ONU. To disable an EPON ONU from dropping unknown unicast packets, use the
unknown-multicast drop enable [ pon-ignore ] command.
Description
On an Ethernet switch not operating as an EPON ONU:
Use the unknown-multicast drop enable command to enable the switch to drop unknown multicast
packets.
Use the unknown-multicast drop enable [ pon-ignore ] or undo unknown-multicast drop enable
command to disable the switch from dropping unknown multicast packets.
By default, a common Ethernet switch does not drop unknown multicast packets.
On an Ethernet switch operating as an EPON ONU:
Use the unknown-multicast drop enable command to enable the EPON ONU to drop unknown
multicast packets.
Use the unknown-multicast drop enable [ pon-ignore ] command to disable the EPON ONU from
dropping unknown multicast packets.
Use the undo unknown-multicast drop enable command to restore the default.
By default, an EPON ONU drops unknown multicast packets.
