To set the operational state for a VLAN, use the state command. To return a VLAN to its default
operational state, use the no form of this command.
Syntax Description
active
suspend

The VLAN is actively passing traffic.

Usage Guidelines
You cannot suspend the state for VLAN 1 or VLANs 1006 to 4094.
VLANs in the suspended state do not pass packets.
Examples
This example shows how to suspend VLAN 2:
switch(config)# vlan 2
switch(config-vlan)# state suspend
