Cleaning Partitions

If the Automatic Drive Cleaning option is enabled, you can configure one
or more dedicated cleaning partitions to provide permanent storage for
cleaning cartridges inside the library (see
on page
Cleaning partitions do not have an entry/exit pool or any drives associated
with them. Instead, a cleaning partition can be associated with any data
partition in the library that has a drive type that is compatible with the
cleaning cartridges in the cleaning partition.
The cleaning cartridges are imported into and exported from cleaning
partition through the TAP in the same way that data cartridges are. The
cleaning cartridges are identified with a standard CLN prefix on the bar
code labels and stored in specially bar coded TeraPack magazines. The
library automatically prevents importing cleaning cartridges and
magazines that are not properly identified into a cleaning partition. It also
prevents importing data cartridges into the cleaning partition.
