    Removing the Shipping Lock Caution: Remove the shipping lock prior to library power on, or risk damage to the T24. The shipping lock prevents the robotic transport mechanism from moving during shipment, protecting the robotics from damage. The shipping lock is located on top of the library, help in place with a label. Remove the label and the shipping lock, and store them on the back panel of the library in case you need to ship the T24.

    Mounting the Library in the Rack Warning: The Spectra 24 weights about 34 lb. / 16 kg. To reduce the risk of personal injury, obtain adequate assistance when lifting and stabilizing the library. Caution: Select a rack location that is low enough so that rack will not tip over if the library is installed (for example, if the rack is empty and you place the library high in the rack, you risk having the rack tip).

    3 Cabling and Configuring Your Library Cabling and Powering On the T24 Shut down the host server. Attach one end of the SCSI cable to one of the connectors on the back panel of the library. Attach the other end of the SCSI cable. Note: Use an LVDS host bus adaptor, to maximize performance.

    Attach the library’s power cord into the library’s AC inlet and then into the wall socket. Attaching the power cable Press the power button on the front of the library to turn on the T24 library. Confirm that the host sees the library and drives. Configuring the T24 Setting the IP Address using the T24 Front Panel Use the front panel to set the library’s IP address.
