    The following sections describe the site requirements for the library. Make sure that the location where the library will be used meets these requirements before the field engineer arrives to install the library. HYSICAL EQUIREMENTS The following physical requirements apply to the location where the library will be operated.

The rack must be located on a level, hard- surfaced floor such as cement or tile. Do not place the rack on a carpeted floor or anywhere else that poses risk for static discharge that could damage your library or its drives.

    Avoid tilting the library as it is moved to prevent internal components moving out of their normal positions. If you tilt the library, Spectra Logic is not responsible for any damage caused to the Warning library or its components, or for any damage caused to your site.

    (110 cm) deep is recommended. A rack that allows access to the library’s side panels simplifies maintenance and service procedures. For stability, Spectra Logic recommends mounting the library at the bottom of the rack. Note: Make sure that the rack is assembled and placed near the AC power outlets and network connections.

Site Prep Guide The T200 library supports a maximum of eight drives and both the T380 library and the T680 library support a maximum of twelve drives each.
  • Page 39 North American 100–130 VAC Power Cord The power cables included with the library are standard, three conductor, 14-gauge AC power cords safe for 100-volt to 130-volt use in the United States and Canada. The male connector does not have a twist lock. An additional grounding wire from the chassis to earth ground is required.

    The operating shock levels indicate how much shock the library can withstand while the enclosed drives are reading and writing data. The non-operating and storage shock levels indicate how much shock the library can withstand when it is not operating. After experiencing this amount of shock, the library will operate normally.

The Gigabit Ethernet QIP (E-QIP) provides a GigE-to-SCSI interface between the host and the library’s SCSI tape drives or RXT drives.
