Fan variator Driven disc - Install (K.62.B.53.51 - F.10.A.15)
1. Apply molybdenum disulfide grease to the fan shaft
(1), splines.
Apply lithium grease-NLGI 2, to the inside of the inner
sheave bushings.
Fill the cavity in the inner sheave with lithium grease-
NLGI 2.
Install the collar (2) and spring (3) onto the fan shaft.
2. Install the inner sheave (1) onto the fan shaft. Install
the special tool (2) fabricated for removal, onto the
fan shaft. Install the retaining nut (3) and washer (4).
Tighten the nut (3) until the inner sheave (1) is
pushed behind the tapered part of the fan shaft.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to align the slot in the special tool
with the key slot on the fan shaft.
3. Install the key (1) into the key slot.
Loosen the retaining nut (2) until the inner sheave
(3), is held in position by the key.
Remove the nut (2) and washer (4) from the shaft.
Clean any grease from the taper and threads on the
end of the fan shaft.
IMPORTANT: There must not be any grease on the taper
part of the fan shaft when installing the outer driven sheave.
