This process leaves behind two products: methyl ester (the chemical name for biodiesel) and glycerine (a byprod- uct usually sold for use in soaps or other products). NOTICE: Biodiesel fuels approved for use in the NEW HOLLAND equipment must be transesterified and comply with the North America Standard ASTM D6751.
  • Page 46 See the National Biodiesel Board website at www.biodiesel.org for more information. The use of biodiesel blends above B5 through B20 will not void the NEW HOLLAND warranty as long as the following conditions for biodiesel fuel handling and maintenance are stringently followed: Biodiesel fuel must be pre-blended by the supplier.
  • Page 47 Regular oil sampling is highly recommended to monitor for oil and engine deterioration. NOTE: Oil sampling kits are available from your authorized NEW HOLLAND dealer. When switching back from biodiesel to regular #2 diesel, all fuel filter, oil and oil filter should be changed even if this falls between routine service intervals.

  • Page 58: Selective Catalytic Reduction (Scr) Exhaust Treatment - Product Overview

CR9090 What is Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)? Your NEW HOLLAND machine is equipped with additional components to comply with national and local exhaust emissions requirements. The main components of the SCR system include the SCR catalyst, the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF)/AdBlue® injection unit, the DEF/AdBlue® tank, and the DEF/AdBlue® dosing control unit.
  • Page 59 ¹ To prevent decomposition of DEF/AdBlue®, prolonged transportation or storage above 25 °C (77 °F) should be avoided. ² Significant loss of shelf life: check every batch before use. See your NEW HOLLAND dealer for more information on testing. NOTE: The main factors taken into account to define the shelf life in the table above are the ambient storage tempera- ture and the initial alkalinity of DEF/AdBlue®.
  • Page 60 The manufacturer is liable for damages to other engine components caused by the failure of any warranted emission control system part. NEW HOLLAND is not responsible for failures resulting from improper repair or the use of parts that are not genuine NEW HOLLAND or NEW HOLLAND approved parts.
