to a local copy of the firmware, and then click [Upgrade]. The reader firmware is located in the
Credential Center Device Drivers\Sagem Morpho folder on the Supplemental Materials disc.

From MorphoBioToolbox, configure the reader with the appropriate settings for reading the Open
Encoding Standard (DESFire) application.
a.
Go to the Key Configuration screen.
b.
Click [Local Configuration] > Load, and then navigate to and choose the OES DESFire
Configuration.xml file. The OES DESFire Configuration.xml file is located in the Credential
Center Device Drivers\Sagem Morpho folder on the Supplemental Materials disc. This action
only updates the local database, but not the reader.
c.
Click [Device Configuration] > Write to save the imported changes to the reader.
4.
Configure events.
a.
From Device Settings, select Events configuration.
b.
Enable Send to controller for the following events:
User control successful
Biometric mismatch

Add the pass-through Wiegand output format.
a.
From Quick Configuration, select Controller Quick Configuration.
b.
Click [Custom Wiegand Settings] to open the Custom Wiegand Settings dialog.
c.
Select a custom Wiegand format such as "Custom slot 0" to match with step 6a.
d.
Enter a name for the card format and the length of the Wiegand data that will be encoded on the
cards in BOTH Length fields. Length should match the length of the Access control card format
configured for the Open Encoding Standard (DESFire) card format in the OnGuard software.
e.
Leave all other fields at their default value.
f.
Click [Write] to save these settings, and then close the Custom Wiegand Settings dialog.

Back on the Wiegand Settings screen, click [Read] to read the Wiegand format you just saved to the
reader.
a.
Enable Active wiegand output, and then select "Custom slot 0" (or the other custom format
created in step 5c) for Verification pass and Identification pass (if using this functionality).
b.
If the Wiegand format you are encoding has an Issue code field, then biometric mismatch is
supported. In order to configure this, make sure to select the same Wiegand format (Custom slot 0)
is used for Verification fail and Identification fail (if using this functionality). Otherwise, leave
this as "None".
c.
Click [Write] to save these settings to the reader.
7.
Load the Reader Authentication Key:
a.
From the MorphoBioToolbox, load the application read key for the OES (DESFire) cards.
b.
On the Key Configuration > Load DESFire Keys screen, complete the following instructions to set
the key on the reader.
Key Type: Select "AES".
Hexadecimal key (16 bytes): Type the value of your key in this field as specified in the File
read key in the OnGuard OES (DESFire) card format.
Key Index: Select "9".
Version: Enter "0".
Validity Duration: Enter "0".
