Probable Cause
The end-of-line resistor is not
installed on the Auxiliary-Alarm input
of the IIM.
The end-of-line resistor is not
installed on the Auxiliary-Trouble
input of the IIM.
The IIM has been configured to
monitor its modem connection for a
telephone line and it has failed to
detect a dial tone
The IIM memory is corrupt due to
faulty power up, a configuration-
upload problem, or an internal
software problem
The IIM does not have a modem but
is incorrectly configured for one, or
the modem is inoperative

Corrective Action
•Check for opens in the wiring
between the IIM and the unpowered
alarm contact that it is monitoring.
•Confirm that the end-of-line resistor
on the IIM's alarm initiating circuit is
5.6 kOhm.
•Disable this feature via LaserNET if
not used.
•Check for opens in the wiring
between the IIM and the unpowered
trouble contact that it is monitoring.
•Confirm that the end-of-line resistor
on the IIM's trouble initiating circuit
is 5.6 kOhm.
•Disable this feature via LaserNET if
not used.
•Confirm that the IIM's Modem Port
is connected to an active telephone
line
•Disable this feature via LaserNET if
not used.
•Refer to ORION-XT Installation,
Operation, and Maintenance Manual,
P/N 89.200.
•Press the IIM's Reset Button
•Upload configuration again. Refer to
LaserNET Software Guide, Version
3.X.
•Use LaserNET to troubleshoot the
IIM
•Disable the modem option via
LaserNET if not used.
•Dial into the modem to confirm
whether it is operative or not.
Replace IIM if it is inoperable.
•Use LaserNET to troubleshoot the
IIM
