2 Remove the fuel filter/water separator with a
filter wrench.

3 Fill the new filter with fresh diesel fuel and apply
a thin layer of diesel fuel to the new fuel filter
gasket.
4 Install the new filter and tighten it securely by
hand. Clean up any diesel fuel that might have
spilled during the procedure.
5 Turn the manual fuel shutoff valve, located at
the fuel tank, to the

inspect the fuel filter for leaks.

leak is discovered, keep any
additional personnel from entering
the area and do not operate the

Change the Fuel Hoses -

Maintaining the fuel hoses in good condition is
essential to safe operation and good engine
performance. Failure to detect a worn, cracked or

leaking fuel hose may cause an unsafe operating
condition.
1 Remove the 2 engine pivot plate retaining bolts
and swing the engine out away from the
machine to access the fuel hoses.

Explosion and fire hazard. Engine
fuels are combustible. Replace the
fuel hoses in an open, well-
ventilated area away from heaters,
sparks, flames and lighted
tobacco. Always have an
approved fire extinguisher within
easy reach.
Component damage hazard. Be
sure the fuel hoses are routed the
same way the original hoses were.
Perform this procedure with the
engine off and cooled.
