Change or Recondition the
Engine Coolant -
Liquid Cooled Models
Replacing or reconditioning the engine coolant is
essential to good engine performance and service
life. Old or dirty coolant may cause the engine to
perform poorly and continued use may cause
engine damage. Extremely dirty conditions may
require coolant to be changed more frequently.
Bodily injury hazard. Beware of
hot engine parts and coolant.
Contact with hot engine parts
and/or coolant may cause severe
burns.
Perform this procedure with the
engine off and cooled.
1 Remove the 2 engine pivot plate retaining bolts.
Swing the engine pivot plate away from the
machine to access the cooling system.

2 Put on protective clothing and eye wear.
3 Disconnect the coolant return hose at the
