9 Install the new regulator/filter. Connect the fuel
hoses to the regulator/filter.
Component damage hazard. Be
sure the correct regulator/filter is
installed or component damage
may occur.
Be sure each fuel hose is
connected to the correct port of the
pressure/regulator.
10 Install the fuel hose from the fuel tank to the fuel
pre-filter.
11 Clean up any fuel that may have spilled during
the installation procedure.
12 Start the machine from the ground controls.
Inspect the fuel filters and hoses for leaks.
Explosion and fire hazard. If a fuel
leak is discovered, keep any
additional personnel from entering
the area and do not operate the
machine. Repair the leak
immediately.

Inspect the Fuel Filter/ Water
Separator - Deutz Models
Proper maintenance of the fuel filter/water separator
is essential for good engine performance. Failure to
perform this procedure can lead to poor engine
performance and component damage.
1 Put on protective clothing and eye wear.
2 Remove the two engine pivot plate retaining
bolts. Swing the engine pivot plate out away
from the machine and secure it from moving.

CHECKLIST A PROCEDURES
Engine specifications require that
this procedure be performed every
100 hours.
Explosion and fire hazard. Engine
fuels are combustible. Perform this
procedure in an open, well-
ventilated area away from heaters,
sparks, flames and lighted
tobacco. Always have an approved
fire extinguisher within easy reach.
Perform this procedure with the
engine off.
Crushing hazard. Failure to secure
the engine pivot plate from moving
could result in death or serious
injury.
