CLUTCH/GEARSHIFT LINKAGE
Remove the oil pump drive sprocket, driven
sprocket and drive chain as a set.
Remove the clutch outer guide.
INSPECTION
CLUTCH LIFTER BEARING
Turn the inner race of the bearing with your finger.
The bearings should turn smoothly and quietly.
Also
chec~
that the bearing outer race fits tightly in
the lifter plate.
Remove and discard the bearing if the races do not
turn smoothly and quietly, or if they fit loosely in the
lifter plate.
CLUTCH SPRING
Replace the clutch
Check the clutch spring free length.
springs as a set.
SERVICE LIMIT: 43.9 mm (1.73 in)
