Tap on the spokes
and be sure that the
same clear metallic
sound can be heard
on all spokes.
Support the motorcycle securely and raise the front
wheel off the ground.
Hold the front fork leg and move the front wheel
sideways forcefully to see if the wheel bearings are
worn.
For front wheel service (page 15-13).
Support the motorcycle securely and raise the rear
wheel off the ground.
Hold the swingarm and move the rear wheel side
ways with the force to see if the wheel bearings are
worn.
For rear wheel service (page 16-6).
Inspect the spokes for looseness by tapping them
with a screwdriver.
If a spoke does not sound clearly, or if it sounds dif
ferent from the other spokes, tighten it to the speci
fied torque.

Check the tire pressure with a tire pressure gauge
when the tires are cold.
