CYLINDER HEAD/VALVE
INSPECTION
CAMSHAFT RUNOUT
Support both end journals of the camshaft with V ­
blocks and check the camshaft runout with a dial
MEASUREMENT POINT
indicator.
Actual runout is 1/2 the total indicator reading.
SERVICE LIMIT: 0.05 mm (0.002 in)
CAM LOBE HEIGHT
Check the cam lobe surfaces for scoring or evidence
of insufficient lubrication.
Measure each cam lobe height.
SERVICEI.IMITS: IN: 37.16 mm (1.463 in)
EX: 37.58 mm (1.480 in)
NOTE:
Check the rocker arm if the cam lobe is worn or
damaged.

Che9k the camshaft journal surfaces for scoring or
evidence oMnsLifficient lubrication.

NOTE: .
Check the oil passages and camshaft holder for
weax or damage if the journal surface is worn or
damaged.

Check the cam sprocket for wear or damage.
