HYDRAULIC BRAKE

1.2 N'm (0.1 kgf'm, 0.9 Ibf·ft)
Do not allow the
piston cup lips to
turn inside out.
BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH
NOTE:
Replace the piston, spring, cups, washer and snap
ring as a set.
Coat the master piston and piston cups with clean
brake fluid.
Install the spring onto the piston end.
,Install the master piston/spring into the master cyl­
inder.
Install the washer on the piston.
Install the snap ring into the groove in the master
cylinder using a special tool.

• Instal1 the snap ring and washer with the cham ­
fered edges facing the thrust load side.
• Do not reUse worn snap ring which could easily
spin in the groove.
• Check that the snap ring is seated in the grooves.
Install the boot into the master cylinder and piston
groove.
Apply 0.1 g of silicone grease to the brake lever con­
tacting area of the piston. .
