CLUTCH/GEARSHIFT LINKAGE
Temporarily install the clutch outer guide, oil pump
drive sprocket and clutch outer onto the mainshaft.
Apply engine oil to the primary drive gear bolt
threads and seating surface.
Install the washer and primary drive gear bolt.
Hold the primary drive gear using a special tool.
TOOL:
Gear holder, 2.5 07724·0010100 or
07724-001A100
(U.S.A. only)
Tighten the bolt to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 88 N·m (9.0 kgf·m, 65 Ibf·ft)
Remove the gear holder and temporarily installed
parts.
Install the ignition pulse generator, wire grommets
and tighten the bolts.
Install the clutch (page 11-18).
GEARSHIFT LINKAGE
REMOVAL
Remove the following:
- Left crankcase rear cover (page 3-5)
- Clutch (page 11-7)
Remove the pinch bolt and gearshift arm from the
spindle.
Clean the gearshift spindle.
Remove the pivot bolt, washer and gearshift pedal.
