FAN MOTOR SWITCH
INSPECTION
The coolant temperature is low but the fan motor
does not stop
Disconnect the connector from the fan motor switch
and turn the ignition switch to ON.
• If the fan motor does not stop, check for a short
circuit in the Black wire.
• If the fan motor stops, replace the fan motor
switch.
The coolant temperature indicator comes on but
the fan motor does not start
Before testing, check for a blown sub fuse 20 A
(FAN).
Disconnect the connector from the fan motor switch
and ground it.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and check the fan
motor.
• If the motor starts, replace the fan motor switch.
• If the fan motor does not start, remove the steer ­
ing side covers (page 3-5) and disconnect the fan
motlif 2P (Natural) connector.
Measurethe voltage between the Black/blue wire
and ground.
