BATTERYICHARGING SYSTEM
BATTERY
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Remove the following:
- Seat (page 3-3)
POSITIVE (+) CABLE
- ICM (page 19-9)
Remove the screw.
Remove the battery case cover by unhooking the
battery case hooks.
With the ignition switch turned to OFF, disconnect
the battery negative (-) cable first, then disconnect
the battery positive (+) cable.
Remove the battery from the battery case.
Install the battery in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE:
• Connect the positive (+) cable first, then connect
the negative (-) cable.
• After connecting the battery cables, coat the ter­
minals with grease.
TORQUE:
Battery case cover screw:
1 N·m (O.1 kgf·m, 0.7 Ibf.ft)
BATIERY CASE COVER
VOLTAGE INSPECTION
Remove the battery case cover (page 18-6).
Measure the battery voltage using a commercially
available digital multimeter.
VOLTAGE {20°C/68°F):Fully charged: 13.0 - 13.2 V
Needs charging: Below 12.4 V
