Choosing a Pad Input Mode

By default, your pads play all Sounds of the selected Group 4 we call this Pad Mode. Further-
more they are velocity sensitive, meaning they will play louder if you hit them harder. You can
change this behavior and choose another pad mode in order to adapt your pads to various sit-
uations.
Using Pad Mode
The
PAD MODE
button located above the pads allows you to switch the controller to Pad
mode. This will map the Sounds contained in your Group to the pads.
To enter Pad mode, press

The display now shows the name of the selected Sound.
Using the 16 Velocities and Fixed Velocity Options
When using the controller in Pad mode, you can apply either of two additional options which
support your playing in specific situations.
▪ The Fixed Velocity option is available when your pads are in Pad mode (default mode) or
Keyboard mode. With this option enabled, your pads play at the same volume no matter
how hard you hit the pads. To enable the Fixed Velocity option, press
again to disable.
▪ In 16 Velocities mode your pads all play the same note of the focused Sound but with six-
teen different velocity values. This can be useful to play or program complex drum fills.
