H) Turn the ventilator back on in
breathing mode, clear all alarms
and measure the plug resistance.
I) Create a High Pressure alarm by
changing the High Pres. Limit
setting to 5 and measure the plug
resistance.
J) Return the High Pres. Limit
setting to 100 and clear all
alarms.
K) Turn the ventilator off, leaving the
audible alarm sounding and
measure the plug resistance.
L) Press the Silence Reset button
to clear the audible alarm and
measure the plug resistance.
OR
Perform a Patient Assist Port response test using Nurse Call Test Fixture P/N
14671-001.
A) Set the ventilator to the following:
Breath Rate: 15 bpm
Tidal Volume: 1000 ml
Insp. Time: 1.0 sec
Leak Compensation: On
B) Attach the Nurse Call Test Fixture to the ventilator Patient Assist Port.
C) Observe the displayed value for PIP in the status monitor window (example, 20
cmH
O).

D) Set the High Pres. Limit to 2 cmH
Pass Criteria: ALARM ON LED shall be lit on the Nurse Call Test Fixture while
the ventilator audible alarm is on.
AND
Pass Criteria: When the audible alarm is not on, the ALARM OFF LED shall
be lit.
E) Return the High Pres. Limit to 100 cmH
Nurse Call Test Fixture from the ventilator Patient Assist Port.
