5.7.2 Installing a Front I/O Module

This topic describes how to install a front I/O module.

Install a front I/O module if:

Procedure
Step 1 Wear an ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves. For details, see
Step 2 Take out the front I/O module from the ESD bag, and install the internal
components, such as the RAID controller card, supercapacitor, and hard disk
backplane.
Step 3 Gently insert the front I/O module into the slot while holding the ejector levers on
the front I/O module. See step (1) in
Step 4 Lower the ejector levers on the front I/O module. See step (2) in
Issue 30 (2019-12-19)
The front I/O module has failed.
A RAID controller card on the front I/O module has failed.
A supercapacitor on the front I/O module has failed.
A hard disk backplane has failed.
You have powered off the RH8100 V3. For details, see

V3. Then you have removed all power cables from the server.
You have installed RAID controller cards on the front I/O module to be
installed. For details, see
You have installed supercapacitors on the front I/O module to be installed. For
