RH8100 V3 Server
User Guide
The following OSs support the hot swap feature of a PCIe card by default:
RHEL 6.9 supports hot swap of HBAs (BOM: 06030217) and 82599 NICs (BOM:
02311DVM).
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP3 does not support the hot swap feature of a
PCIe card by default. To enable SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP3 to support
this feature, run the modprobe pciehp command to load the hot swap driver. You
can run the modinfo pciehp command to view the hot swap driver.
Other OSs do not support the hot swap feature of a PCIe card.
Before you hot-swap a Qlogic card on Windows, uninstall the Qlogic card
management software, including:
Management Agents, QConvergeConsole CLI Management Tool, and
QConvergeConsole GUI Management Tool
Otherwise, after you press the hot swap button, the Qlogic card cannot be
powered off because the Qlogic card driver is used by the management software.
