Issue 30 (2019-12-19)
Hard disk
Hard disk backplane
Front I/O board of model D
(FIO-D)
RAID-2
describes the FM-D components.
Item
Description
Hard disk
Hard disks are hot-swappable and store data for the RH8100
V3. The FM-D supports a maximum of eight 2.5-inch SAS
HDDs, SATA HDDs, SSDs, or NVMe PCIe SSDs.
FM-D
The FM-D supports hard disks, RAID controller cards, and a
supercapacitor.
Hard disk
The hard disk backplane provides ports for connecting to hard
backplane
disks and RAID controller cards.
Supercap
The supercapacitor provides power failure protection for a
acitor
RAID controller card with the LSISAS3108 chip.
FIO-D
The FIO-D houses a RAID controller card and provides the
management function.
RAID
The FM-D supports SR430C (LSISAS3108) RAID controller
controller
cards, and supports multiple RAID levels, RAID level
card
migration, and drive roaming.
SR430C (LSISAS3108) RAID controller cards supports RAID 0,
1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60, and supercapacitors for power failure
protection.
The FM-D supports two RAID controller cards, which are
configured for different compute modules.
● RAID-1 is configured for compute module 1.
● RAID-2 is configured for compute module 5.
NOTE
● If compute module 1 or 5 is not installed, the corresponding RAID
controller card is unavailable.
● NVMe PCIe SSDs do not support RAID. If NVMe PCIe SSDs are
installed in all disk slots, no RAID controller cards need to be
configured on the server.
