Setting up the input from a navigation system (GPS)

For the ES80 to use and offer correct navigational information, one or more external
sensors must be connected. Typical sensors are those that provide speed, heading and
geographical position. To select which sensors to install, use the
page. Your current position is shown on the top bar if you have enabled this in the
dialog box.

Prerequisites
This procedure assumes that:
• You have a vacant interface port on your Processor Unit.
• You are familiar with NMEA and other relevant datagram formats.
• You know how to set up the parameters for serial and local area network (LAN)
communication.
• The interface port is set up with the correct communication parameters.
• The ES80 is turned on, and it is working normally.
• The new sensor is physically connected to the ES80 using a serial or network cable. It
is switched on and in normal operation.
Neither tools nor instruments are required.

the list of valid datagram formats, select the format(s) to be accepted by the ES80. Once
