Example
The following example configures the MSTP instance 1 path cost for Gigabit
Ethernet interface 1/0/9 to 4.
console(config)#interface gigabitethernet 1/0/9
console(config-if-Gi1/0/9)#spanning-tree mst 1 cost 4

spanning-tree mst port-priority

Use the spanning-tree mst port-priority command in Interface Configuration
mode to configure port priority. To return to the default port priority, use the
no form of this command.
Syntax
spanning-tree mst instance-id port-priority priority
no spanning-tree mst instance-id port-priority
instance-id—ID of the spanning-tree instance. (Range: 1-4094)
priority—The port priority. (Range: 0-240 in multiples of 16.)
Default Configuration
The default port-priority for IEEE STP is 128. The default priority for a port-
channel is 96.
Command Mode
Interface Configuration (gigabitethernet, port-channel, tengigabitethernet,
fortygigabitethernet) mode
User Guidelines
The priority will be set to the nearest multiple of 4096 if not an exact multiple
of 4096.
Example
The following example configures the port priority of Gigabit Ethernet
interface 1/0/5 to 144.
console(config)#interface gigabitethernet 1/0/5
console(config-if)#spanning-tree mst 1 port-priority 144
