EX6200 switches have field-replaceable unit (FRU) line cards that can be installed in
the line card slots or the Switch Fabric and Routing Engine (SRE) module slots on the
front of the switch chassis. See
line cards are hot-insertable and hot-removable: You can remove and replace them
without powering off the switch or disrupting switch functions.
NOTE:
We recommend that you take the line cards offline before removing
them.
NOTE:
Installation of a line card in the SRE module slots (slots 4 and 5) in
an EX6200 switch is supported in Junos OS Release 12.1 or later.
Before you begin installing a line card in the switch:
Ensure that you have taken the necessary precautions to prevent electrostatic discharge
(ESD) damage (see
"Prevention of Electrostatic Discharge Damage" on page
Ensure that you know how to handle and store the line card (see
Line Cards in EX6200 and EX8200 Switches" on page
"Slot Numbering for an EX6210 Switch" on page
231).
