In a four-post rack, carefully slide the switch onto the adjustable mounting brackets,
if installed, until the front-mounting brackets (ears) attached to the chassis contact
the rack rails. The adjustable mounting brackets installed in the rack ensure that the
holes in the front-mounting brackets align with the holes in the rack rails.
If the optional power cord tray is installed in a two-post rack, carefully slide the switch
into the rack ensuring that the front bottom of the chassis rests on the lip of the power
cord tray. The front-mounting brackets (ears) prevent the chassis from tipping too
far back. Ensure that at least one person is supporting the rear of the chassis.
Move the lift away from the rack.
6.
In the rack, push the bottom of the chassis so that the front-mounting bracket is flush
7.
with the front of the rack ensuring that one person continues to support the rear of
the chassis.
In a four-post rack, slide the chassis on the side rails of the adjustable mounting
brackets, if installed, so that the front-mounting bracket is flush with the front of the
rack.
Install a mounting screw into each of the open front-mounting holes aligned with the
8.
rack, starting from the bottom.
Visually inspect the alignment of the switch. If the switch is installed properly in the
9.
rack, all the mounting screws on one side of the rack are aligned with the mounting
screws on the opposite side and the switch is level.
After ensuring that the switch is aligned properly, tighten the screws.

If you cannot use a mechanical lift to install the switch, you can install it manually.
CAUTION:
Lifting the chassis and mounting it in a rack or cabinet requires at
least two people.
When lifting the chassis, do not grasp the switch by the panel at the top front
of the chassis. Doing so can cause the panel to pop off of the switch.
CAUTION:
Before front-mounting the switch in a rack, have a qualified
technician verify that the rack is strong enough to support the switch's weight
and is adequately supported at the installation site.
