The weight of a fully loaded EX6210 switch is approximately 216 lb (98 kg). Observe the
following guidelines for lifting and moving the switch:
Before moving the switch to a site, ensure that the site meets the power, environmental,
and clearance requirements specified in the
Switch" on page
89.
Do not attempt to lift the EX6210 switch by yourself. We recommend using a mechanical
lift to install the EX6210 switch in a rack or cabinet. See
on a Rack or Cabinet Using a Mechanical Lift" on page
must remove all components from the chassis before lifting and use a minimum of
two people to lift the EX6210 switch chassis. For lifting the chassis and component
removal instructions, see
Using a Mechanical Lift" on page
Before lifting or moving the switch, disconnect all external cables and wires.
Do not grasp the switch by the panel at the top front of the chassis. Doing so can cause
the panel to detach from the switch.
While lifting the switch, as when lifting any heavy object, ensure that most of the weight
is borne by your legs rather than your back. Keep your knees bent and your back relatively
straight. Do not twist your body as you lift. Balance the load evenly among the people
lifting the switch and be sure that your footing is firm.
