Complete Hardware Guide for EX6210 Ethernet Switches

CAUTION:
Do not leave the power supply slot empty for a long time while
the switch is operational. Either replace the power supply promptly or install
the appropriate cover panel over the empty slot.
To remove an AC power supply from an EX6200 switch (see
Figure 79 on page
211):
Attach the ESD grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to the ESD

switch on the power supply faceplate to the Standby position.

Disconnect power from the power supply by performing one of the two following

tasks:
If the AC power source outlet has a power switch, set it to the OFF position.
If the AC power source outlet does not have a power switch, gently pull the male
end of the power cord connected to the power source outlet out of the outlet.
Remove the power cord from the AC appliance inlet on the AC power supply faceplate.

NOTE:
The 5000 W AC power supply has two AC appliance inlets. You
must remove power cords from both appliance inlets, if connected, to
completely disconnect power from the power supply.
Turn the adjustment nut of the power cord retainer counterclockwise till you can see

the power cord. Pull the power cord out of the slot in the adjustment nut.
Squeeze the two sides of the power cord retainer clip, and remove the L-shaped ends

of the clip from the holes around the AC appliance inlet to completely remove the
power retainer clip.
Repeat Steps 4 through 6 if a power cord is installed in the second appliance inlet on
7.
the 5000 W AC power supply.
Unscrew the two captive screws counterclockwise using the screwdriver, till they are

completely unseated.
Taking care not to touch power supply components, pins, leads, or solder connections,
9.
place one hand under the power supply to support it. Grasp the power supply handle
with your other hand and pull the power supply completely out of the chassis.
If you are not replacing the power supply, install the correct power supply cover panel
10.
over the slot, using the screwdriver to tighten the captive screws on the front top of
the cover panel.
