line cards are hot-insertable and hot-removable: You can remove and replace them
without powering off the switch or disrupting switch functions.
NOTE:
We recommend that you take the line cards offline before removing
them.
Before you begin removing a line card from an EX6200 switch:
Ensure that you have taken the necessary precautions to prevent electrostatic discharge
(ESD) damage (see
"Prevention of Electrostatic Discharge Damage" on page
If there are any cables installed in the line card, remove them before you remove the
line card.
Ensure that you know how to handle and store the line card (see
Line Cards in EX6200 and EX8200 Switches" on page
Ensure that you have the following parts and tools available to remove a line card from
the switch chassis:
ESD grounding strap
Phillips (+) screwdriver, number 2
An antistatic bag or an antistatic mat
Replacement line card or the appropriate cover panel to cover the empty slot
To remove a line card from the switch (see

Attach the ESD grounding strap to your bare wrist and connect the strap to the ESD

Grasp both the ejector levers on the faceplate of the line card and pull them outward
