Removing the Air Filter from an EX6210 Switch

You may need to remove the air filter from your EX6210 switch to replace it or for
maintenance of the filter.
The air filter is installed vertically on the right side on the front of the chassis, on the air
intake vents. Six captive screws are used to secure the air filter into the chassis.
Before you remove the air filter:
Ensure you understand how to prevent ESD damage. See
Discharge Damage" on page
Ensure that you have the following parts and tools available to remove the air filter the
switch:
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap
Phillips (+) screwdriver, number 1
(Optional) Replacement air filter
To remove the air filter from the switch (see
Attach the electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and

connect the strap to the ESD point on the chassis.
Unscrew the captive screws, one in each corner of the air filter faceplate and two in

the middle, by turning them counterclockwise, using the Phillips (+) screwdriver, until
all screws are completely unseated.
Gently pull the air filter away from the chassis.
