HYDRAULIC BRAKE
DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY
Disassemble and assemble the front master cylinder as
following the illustration.
• Be careful not to damage the boot.
• When removing and installing the snap ring, use the
special tool.
TOOL:
Snap ring pliers
• Replace the piston and cups as a set.
• Apply brake fluid to the master piston and cups.
• Apply brake fluid to the master cylinder inside.
• Do not allow the piston cup lips to turn inside out.
• Make sure the snap ring is firmly seated in the
groove.
• Align the brake light switch boss and master cylinder
hole.
• Apply 0.10 g (0.004 oz) of silicone grease to the
brake lever sliding surface and lever-to-master
piston contacting area.
• Apply 0.10 g (0.004 oz) of silicone grease to the
brake lever pivot bolt sliding surface.
